Trip Description/ Itinerary
Distance:
Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Tavan ( L,D/ Homestay)
8:30 am: Meet our local guide at the meeting point and depart the trek to Y Linh Ho Village.
Y Linh Ho Village is located about 7 km southwest of Sa Pa town, along the Muong Hoa Valley. We will walk along an interesting path with stretches of terraced fields and traditional houses, some of which are built from bamboo taken from mountains over 1500 meters high.
11:30 am : Lunch at the local restaurant village
1:00 pm: Depart for Lao Chai village
Located about 7-12 km from Sa Pa town center, Lao Chai is one of the villages with a large population of Black Hmong people in Sa Pa.
The Black Hmong is one of the largest ethnic minority groups in the Sa Pa area. They take pride in their culture and maintain their traditions and way of life. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo clothing. The locals still preserve ethnic decorations in their homes, such as wooden bells for buffalo necks or ancient horns. Additionally, you will stroll through the winding and expansive terraced fields, capturing beautiful photographs.
3:30 pm: Arrive at Ta Van village
Ta Van, located in the Muong Hoa Valley, 8 km from SaPa center, is famous for its unique terraced fields along the Muong Hoa stream. Here, you can participate in making herbal incense, design your own scarf at a traditional Giay house, and experience the art of Hmong beeswax painting (Batik). You also have the opportunity to learn about cultural heritage sites such as the Ancient Rock and Rattan Bridge of Sa Pa.
5:00 pm: Arrive at a local homestay where you will stay overnight.
6:00 pm: Dinner and end of day 1
Day 2: Tavan – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Thanh Kim (B,L D/ Homestay)
8:30 am: Wake up and have breakfast
9:30 am: Departure to Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan village
Giang Ta Chai, located in Ta Van commune, is about 11km from the center of Sapa. It is a place where Dao ethnic people reside. When visiting Giang Ta Chai, tourists will have the opportunity to participate in very interesting challenges. Tourists will experience trekking activities across challenging roads, passing through lush bamboo forests and towering hills. Continuing to Su Pan village is located 17 km east of Sapa town. This is the residence of the Black H’mong people. The locals here mainly earn their living by growing rice. You will pass through the village of the locals here and learn about their culture, daily life, and cross the winding roads… All create a beauty that you will remember forever.
11:30 am: Have lunch.
1:00 pm: Move to Thanh Kim village
Thanh Kim commune is located approximately 24 km from the center of Sapa, and it is a densely populated area of the Red Dao ethnic minority. Upon arrival, you will walk along winding roads, passing through villages of the Dao people. Here, you will discover the unique culture and way of life, as well as experience the friendliness and hospitality of the local people. Particularly in Thanh Kim, there are many famous specialties, one of which is Thanh Kim rice wine, a specialty produced by the Red Dao people in Thanh Kim commune.
5:00 pm: Return to the accommodation for rest
6:00 pm: Dinner and end of day 2.
Day 3: Thanh Kim – Nam Sai – Nam Than (B,L,D/ Homestay)
8:30 am: Departure to Nam Sai village
Nậm Sài village in Sapa is located far from the town area but is blessed with magnificent and picturesque landscapes. The area retains its pristine beauty, offering you moments of tranquility and the hospitality of the local people.
12:00 pm: Lunch time
1:00 pm: Visit Nam Than village
Nam Than is a small village in Nam Cang commune, is home to the White Mong ethnic group, very few tourists know about this group in Sapa. They have traditional costumes different from the Black Mong and their own unique culture. And famous for its year-round terraced fields, lush green forests and winding streams. You will stay overnight at a homestay with the locals here and be warmly welcomed by the host with delicious specialties such as stir-fried bamboo shoots, local pork, grilled fish in bamboo tubes… If you come to Nam Than, don’t miss these wonderful experiences.
3:00 pm: Arrive at a local homestay where you will stay overnight.
6:00 pm: Have a cozy dinner with the homestay host and end of day 2.
Day 4: Nam Than – Nam Cang – Sapa (B, L )
8:30 am: Departure to Nam Cang village
Nam Cang is a favorite spot for admiring rice fields in Sa Pa, located approximately 37 km southeast of the town center and inhabited by the Dao and White H’mong ethnic groups. The area preserves traditional cultural customs and practices while boasting beautiful, pristine natural landscapes unaffected by climate change and environmental factors. If you love nature, culture, and seek simplicity and tranquility, Nậm Cang is an excellent destination.
11:30 am: Lunch time
1:00 pm: Return by car to Sapa town center
3:00 pm: Departure for Hanoi, marking the end of the 4-day, 3-night itinerary in Sapa.

- Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March.
- Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary.
- You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because the banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
- You should take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick.
