Day 1: Sapa – Fansipan – Love Waterfall – Sapa (L,D)
8:30 am: Depart to conquer Fansipan Peak, known as the “Roof of Indochina”
Fansipan Peak, part of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, is the highest mountain in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. It is considered a sacred place and is dubbed the “Roof of Indochina” with an absolute height of 3,147 meters. Reaching the summit of Fansipan is a dream for those who love nature and exploring new wonders.
To reach the summit of Fansipan, your journey will go through three stages:
Stage 1: Sapa Station – Hoang Lien Station
To get to Hoang Lien Station (the departure station for the cable car), you can choose between two options:
- Take the Muong Hoa mountain train;
- Take a direct car ride from SaPa town center to Hoang Lien Station.
At Hoang Lien Station, visitors can explore Vietnam’s largest rose valley, Bao An Zen Monastery, the ancient Black Pine Garden, and the Cloud Cultural Village of the Northwest Highlands.
Stage 2: Hoang Lien Station – Fansipan Station
You take the cable car to Fansipan Station and explore the Spiritual Cultural Complex at the Cloud Yard.
Stage 3: Fansipan Station – Do Quyen Station – Fansipan Peak
You can either hike or take the mountain train to reach Fansipan Peak. The Fansipan mountain train from Do Quyen Station to Truc May Station, from where it is only a few dozen steps to the legendary Roof of Indochina.
11:30 am: Lunch at Sapa town center
1:30 pm: Depart to visit Love Waterfall
Love Waterfall is about 14 km southwest of Sa Pa town and 3.2 km from O Quy Ho Pass. Nearly 100 meters high, the waterfall is deep within the Hoang Lien National Park. It tirelessly pours water into the picturesque Golden Stream, navigating rocky terrain and cascading down sections to eventually become a gentle stream flowing through the diverse primary forest.
Along the stream, there is a 1.6 km walking path leading into the primary forest area. Visitors can freely take photos or wade in the stream, experiencing a relaxing and soothing atmosphere, immersing in the natural beauty to leave behind the hustle and fatigue of daily life.
4:00 pm: Return to your accommodation
6:00 pm: Dinner and end of day 1
Day 2: Sapa – Lao Chai – Tavan – Hanoi ( L )
8:30 am: Meet the tour guide at the hotel and start trekking to Lao Chai village
Located about 7-12 km from Sa Pa town center, Lao Chai is one of the villages with a large population of Black Hmong people in Sa Pa.
The Black Hmong is one of the largest ethnic minority groups in the Sa Pa area. They take pride in their culture and maintain their traditions and way of life. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo clothing. The locals still preserve ethnic decorations in their homes, such as wooden bells for buffalo necks or ancient horns.
Additionally, you will stroll through the winding and expansive terraced fields, capturing beautiful photographs.
11:30 am: Lunch time
2:00 pm: Visit Ta Van
Ta Van, located in the Muong Hoa Valley, 8 km from SaPa center, is famous for its unique terraced fields along the Muong Hoa stream. Here, you can participate in making herbal incense, design your own scarf at a traditional Giay house, and experience the art of Hmong beeswax painting (Batik). You also have the opportunity to learn about cultural heritage sites such as the Ancient Rock and Rattan Bridge of Sa Pa.
4:00 pm: Return to Sa Pa
6:00 pm: Depart for Hanoi and end of the 2-day, 1-night itinerary in Sa Pa

Tour Plan
- Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March.
- Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary.
- You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because the banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
- You should take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick.
